Welcome to....

The Volcano Information Center

This website was designed for educational purposes by Professor Emeritus Richard V. Fisher at UC Santa Barbara in 1999, and is maintained as an archive.

The purpose of the Volcano Information Center (VIC) is to provide links to websites that are resources for data not contained in VIC and to inform the user about general volcanology in an organized way, including features of volcanoes, volcanic eruptions and volcanic hazards. Technical items are identified with a message that reads TECHNICAL REPORT. We give thanks to all individuals and institutions whose programs have been linked and encompassed within the VIC pages.
